- Canada World Youth
For over 30 years, this organization has been a leader in the area of informal education, both in Canada and abroad.
- Chantiers jeunesse (French only)
Within the context of this program, Québec youth can take part in a volunteer work camp, i.e., work as volunteers on specific projects in Europe, North America and Japan.
- Exchanges Canada
This Government of Canada initiative enables young Canadians to connect with one another; to discover the diversity of the country’s communities, languages and cultures; and to learn about possible exchanges involving Canadians and people from other lands.
- Katimavik
As Canada’s leading national youth service program, Katimavik’s mission is to foster the personal development of young people through challenging activities such as community volunteer work, training and group interaction.
- Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse – OFQJ (French only)
For 18- to 35-year-olds. The OFQJ offers the following opportunities: business internships, exploratory and trade missions, road shows, extended immersion in the working world, etc.
- Interprovincial Summer Job Exchange Program
Under the Interprovincial Summer Job Exchange Program, the governments of Alberta, Manitoba and Québec hire over a hundred Québec university students for summer employment. Québec government departments and agencies hire an equivalent number of students from these provinces.
- Destination Clic Program
This is a three-week program that enables 14 and 15 year old Francophones to make educational discoveries, meet new friends, and explore a new region of Canada, while becoming more fluent in French as a first language.
- Explore Program
This five-week program includes courses, activities, encounters and experiences, all taking place in the students’ second language and in a region other than their own.
- Odyssey Program
This program provides language monitors with full-time work in a region other than their own.
- Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada – International Experience Canada
These programs are aimed at Canadians aged 18 to 35 who are searching for a job abroad. The site tells young people how to find employment abroad, depending on their personal circumstances and the requirements of the program in which they choose to participate.
- Work Holiday Visa (WHV)
WHV allows you to acquire practical training in the United States during a period ranging from one to 12 months. The program gives you a chance to learn practical skills that you can use for your future career in either Canada or your home country. On the basis of existing programs and services, government departments and agencies that participate in the Youth Employment Strategy work with other levels of government, private non-governmental institutions, volunteer organizations and Canadian families.
