Since its inception, over 9000 students from the participating provinces have acquired experience in their field of study and discovered another region of Canada. They have worked as researchers, guide-interpreters, biologists, translators, engineers, computer analysts, social workers or in other professional jobs.

To be eligible for the program, candidates must:
Candidates who are selected will be given employment in government departments and agencies in the participating provinces.
The salary varies depending on the province where the employment is offered. A travel allowance is provided to students in accordance with the program guidelines. Living expenses are paid by students.
Employment is for 13 weeks.
Selection of students is based mainly on the following: matching the academic background of students with the jobs being offered by the other provinces (field of study, specific requirements, etc.), competency in English, work experience, personal characteristics and general knowledge.
The selection process is carried out in several steps: pre-selection based on the file (February), interviews (February-March) and matching of jobs (April-May).
